Families of Lockerbie
Fascinating and moving Michael Eaton play, directed by Giles Croft. Some great performances by Jenny Ward, David Beckford, Joan Moon and Robert Benfield. Sound design by Drew Bauhmohl. Designer Nathan Rose. LX Alexandra Stafford.
The string quartet score uses an SOS – ironic as the SOS could never be initiated by Pan Am Flight 103 itself – to tattoo the musical texture, translating morse-code into musical notes. Cello features heavily in the score, influenced by the loss of one particular passenger of Pan Am 103 in this notorious terrorist atrocity over Lockerbie in 1988.
The score was recorded in Birmingham, England by Simon Hall with thanks to Kelly McCusker and her String Quartet.
